The Planwright was formed in 1984 after its founder, Ron Chmielewski, determined that there was a need in the central east coast of Florida for quality home designs. Starting from his in-home studio in Melbourne Beach, Ron first offered his design service to local building contractors. Demand quickly grew and Ron moved the design studio to it's current location on Babcock Street in Melbourne, Florida.
Now, the Planwright is a recognized name throughout Brevard County Florida for it's premiere building designs.

The drawn out downturn of the housing market continues to challenge all of us in the design and construction industry. Home builders, electricians, plumbers, framers and everyone involved with housing are in a vulnerable position to try to maintain a steady workload. As small business owners struggle to stay afloat, many subcontractors are cutting their work forces. Florida's east coast continues in a housing downturn that has lasted nearly four years, but for the most part, Brevard County continues to be a desireable location to live and raise a family or just to ease through the retirement years.
